Service Projects
Service Projects
CEL holds regular service opportunities that run weekly (Beavs Volunteer) as well as large days of service that are staff-led throughout the year. All students need to do is register and show up! We also manage a large database of local service opportunities students can participate in on their own.
Consultations
Consultations
Want to make an impact in your community and develop as a leader and aren’t sure where to begin? Schedule a consultation with Community Engagement & Leadership (CEL)! Our consultations allow you to meet with a CEL staff member to explore leadership approaches and the causes you care about most while learning about strategies or pathways for social change.
Community Dialogues
Community Dialogues
Community Dialogues is a once-per-term series which seeks to cultivate connection and deep learning through exploration of critical and contentious issues.
Nonprofit & Public Service Fair
Nonprofit & Public Service Fair
Meet representatives from numerous local and regional nonprofits and local government agencies representing a wide variety of fields who are seeking OSU students for volunteer, internship, and job opportunities. Learn about the ways volunteering and community engagement advance your leadership and career readiness skills.
Workshops
Workshops
We believe leadership is for everyone, and that includes YOU! Leadership skills can be learned and everyone has the capacity to lead in some way. Our workshops are here to help you tap into your own leadership potential.
Alternative Break
Alternative Break
Alternative break trips aim to develop the capacity for students to lead for social change. Alternative breaks enable students to immerse themselves in a community to learn its historical, cultural and political background. The Alternative Break experience encourages students to analyze their assumptions through learning about the complexity of social problems.
Saber es Poder
Saber es Poder
Saber es Poder (Knowledge is Power) Latine Leadership & Advocacy is an immersive, program focused on Latine leadership, activism, and self-exploration by giving students the opportunity to connect with Latine leaders, learn from their stories, and reflect on their own personal leadership skills.
Beyond Earth Day
